This will significantly increase productivity.”

Increase efficiency with unique evaluation criteria

This company pursues “how much money can be earned in a shorter amount of time.”

For this reason, we have introduced our own evaluation criteria.

That is “sales per hour”.

Evaluations are made on a business office basis, not on an individual basis.

For example, these two offices.

Sales office A has 40,000 yen more in sales, but in terms of sales per hour, office B has shorter working hours and is 1000 yen more expensive.

In this case, the system is such that office B’s salary and bonuses are evaluated higher.

For example, if there is more cargo than expected, drivers who are working nearby and have free time rush to the site and help load and unload the cargo, completing the work in a short time.

What should we as consumers think about?

Truck transportation accounts for 90% of Japan’s annual distribution volume of 4.2 billion tons, and can be called the artery of life and economy.

Regarding the 2024 issue, a private think tank estimates that if no measures are taken, there will be a 14% shortage in transportation capacity, so we as consumers are no strangers to this issue.

“However, if the rising costs are borne only by the shipper, the shipper’s profit will naturally fall, and this will no longer be sustainable.The shipper will also be able to pass on these costs to the price of the product, and the general consumer will I don’t think society itself will be able to sustain itself unless we collectively bear the burden.”

“First of all, I would like people to think about having society as a whole bear the burden of rising logistics costs.”

“However, from the perspective of us consumers, the words ‘free shipping’ are very attractive. Do we need to change our mindset?”

“Consumer behavior change is also required.For example, when consumers buy something online and it says “free shipping,” they don’t know how much the shipping cost is. For example, there are many people who use online shopping to order toilet paper on Monday, food on Tuesday, and drinking water on Wednesday.

“However, if it becomes visible in the form of, for example, “shipping = 300 yen,” I think it will naturally encourage people to buy in bulk, such as ordering items they had planned to order on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday all at once on Monday. “Free shipping” is a very powerful word and gives the impression of being a great deal, but of course there is a charge for shipping.I think that if we could show the shipping costs to consumers, their attitude would change instantly.”

“For example, from the perspective of environmental issues, people were told to “avoid receiving plastic bags and use your own bags,” but when they were free, everyone would have received plastic bags. Then everyone started using their own bags.”

“Being conscious of prices can lead to improvements in efficiency, consideration for the environment, and changes in consumer behavior, so I think being able to see shipping costs is a very effective tool in that sense.”

I myself had been conscious of the idea of ​​reducing the burden on the delivery drivers, such as by leaving the delivery on hold, but I reflected on myself and wondered if it was somehow someone else’s problem.

Our daily lives are made possible by the logistics and the drivers who transport the goods.
