BE: FIRST successfully held their first dome performance, which they had set as the minimum requirement to aim for the world stage.
“Recently, I’ve been talking a lot with the members about expanding into the world. I think there are many ways to do it, but our main focus is music. We want to raise our creative average in order to embody the music we want to make.” (MANATO) )
“I want people to overwrite the Japanese culture that is loved all over the world and experience something they’ve never experienced before. If I’m going to do it, I think I should do it to the fullest.” (RYOKI)
“There are many things I want to do, both domestically and internationally. I want to work together as a team to take on challenges while staying true to my core.” (SHUNTO)
With the members’ strong will, the challenging song “Mainstream”, which revived their roots in hip-hop in the modern era, achieved 116 music chart titles. The next move, “Masterplan,” combines Japanese and hip-hop. “A song that expresses the will to step out into the world with Japan on its shoulders” (SOTA).
“I was surprised that “Mainstream” received more support in Japan than I expected. I’m happy that so many people support it. That’s why I’m having more and more fun talking about the future with everyone. (RYUHEI)
This interview was conducted in late March after the Tokyo Dome performance and before the Kyocera Dome Osaka performance.
“It was our first Dome performance, and we had a good live performance. BE: FIRST is for each member to face their own points of improvement, even without speaking, and then to discuss things in group rehearsals. Communication is something we should be able to do on a regular basis. If we form a circle before the concert, I’m sure things will go well at Kyocera Dome. Our style is to grow step by step without pushing ourselves too hard.” (LEO)
