This work is based on Kana Ozawa’s “BLUE MOMENT” currently being serialized in “COMIC BRIDGE” (KADOKAWA). The drama tells the story of the struggles of SDM Headquarters (Special Disaster Management Headquarters) members who use their wisdom and knowledge to risk their lives on the front lines in order to protect human lives threatened by severe weather disasters. Yamashita will play the main character, Haruhara, who is the chief/weather researcher at the SDM headquarters, and the heroine, Natsuki Deguchi, will play Aya Kumota, a research assistant at the Meteorological Research Institute of the Japan Meteorological Agency.

Tanaka will play Haruhara’s childhood friend, Shiki Fujimura. A person who has known Haruhara since childhood, when he was known as a “mathematical genius boy” and often spent his time with a sullen look on his face. He had a close friendship with Akari Sonobe (Tsubasa Honda), who would later become Haruhara’s fiancée, during their student days, and saw Haruhara’s heart melt and smile in front of her.

Fujimura joined the TV station with Haruhara, and they worked hard together and supported each other, with Haruhara on the weather desk and Fujimura as a producer. However, one day five years ago, when heavy rain was pouring down, Fujimura and Haruhara worked together to prevent further human damage. calls Haruhara. To apologize for summoning Haruhara, who is busy preparing for his wedding with Akira, Akari offers him her favorite donut…

Tanaka will be co-starring with Yamashita, who plays the lead role, for the first time in about nine years since “5→9 ~The Monk Who Fell in Love with Me~” (Fuji TV / October 2015). The two, who are close friends both in public and private life, co-star in the role of childhood friends and co-workers. Furthermore, since it appeared without any advance notice, it immediately became a hot topic on social media.

Tanaka cranks in, of course, in this scene. When the camera rolled, the two of them gave their lines perfectly and gave OK one after another. When the cut was made, they could be seen running towards each other and chatting, and in the off-shot, they spontaneously hugged each other before the cameraman called out to them. The details can be found on the drama’s official SNS.

Commenting on their first collaboration together in a while, Tanaka said, “I’ve always liked Yamashita-kun, so I was happy to see him again after a long time. However, he’s become a little too macho (lol). He’s become so macho that I wonder if he trains that much!? (lol) ),” he said, unable to hide his surprise at his well-trained appearance.

He continued, “Both the original work and the script seemed interesting, and Yamashita-kun played the role of Mr. Haruhara. When I heard the names of the other cast members, I thought it would be even more interesting, but today’s scene confirmed that. Things have changed. I was happy to be back on set at Fuji TV after such a long time. There was a bit of a heavy atmosphere going on, so I added some blur in the rehearsal to brighten things up a bit, but it turned out a lot. …It was scary (lol),” he said, looking back on the first day of filming with a playful comment.
