At around 7:30 p.m. on the 18th, a fire broke out at a municipal housing complex in Karahikita, Moriyama-cho, Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture, and a burned corpse of unknown gender and a woman in cardiopulmonary arrest were found in the burnt remains. The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital she was transported to. Isahaya Police Station believes that the two people who died were a resident couple in their 80s, and are working to confirm their identities.

According to the police, the municipal housing is a two-story reinforced concrete building, with the first and second floors serving as the same residence. The burnt body was found on the first floor, and the woman was found on the balcony on the second floor. The scene is approximately 10 kilometers southeast of JR Isahaya Station.
