Nakayu Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. (Kami Town, Miyagi Prefecture) will release the sake “Tenjo Mugen Bonobono Junmai Daiginjo” in collaboration with the four-panel manga “Bonobono” from Miyagi Prefecture on Monday, April 29, 2024. It will be released in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces.
Elegant taste created by Miyagi Prefecture’s original sake rice and yeast
“Bonobono” is a 4-panel comic created by Mikio Igarashi, a manga artist from Kami-cho, Miyagi Prefecture, in 1986 and continues to be loved by a wide range of people.
“Tenjo Mugen Bonobono Junmai Daiginjo” is a sake created through a collaboration between Mikio Igarashi, who also serves as a tourism ambassador for Kami Town, and Nakayu Sake Brewery, a sake brewery in Kami Town. The label and gift box feature an illustration of “Bonobono” and will be sold in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces.
The rice used is 100% Miyagi prefecture’s original sake rice, “Gin no Iroha.” It is brewed using Miyagi Prefecture’s original yeast, sticking to Nakayuu Sake Brewery’s traditional manufacturing methods of “limited amount water absorption” and “direct fire Japanese kettle steaming.” Along with the elegant, rounded and delicate flavor, you can feel the softness and fullness typical of Gin no Iroha.
The unveiling will take place at an event during the Hatsuuma Festival held in Kami Town on Monday, April 29th (holiday). Additionally, 5% of the sales of this product will be donated to the Kami Town Children’s Mental Care House.
