I want to form a POPS orchestra for one night only in Gunma! (LustigePhilharmonie Published 2024/04/24) – Crowdfunding READYFOR

--

▼Self-introduction

Thank you for visiting our “Lustige Philharmonie” page.

My name is Daiki Tamura, the representative and founder.

While studying to become a teacher at Gunma University’s Faculty of Joint Education, majoring in music, I am also working hard every day on music activities in order to become an expert in teaching music.

I have been playing an instrument called the euphonium in a brass band for 10 years. Some of you who are watching may have only heard the name from the anime “Sound Euphonium.” In the Gunma University Music Department, the entire department also works on orchestras, but because the euphonium has a relatively new history, it is rarely used in orchestras. Although I had no experience playing in an orchestra, I started playing the trumpet and have been playing in an orchestra for three years. Through this experience, I was able to appreciate the mixed sound of string and wind instruments, which is completely different from wind music, and I would like to expand this enjoyment even further.

▼Why we started the project

Gunma University, where I study, has the unusual feature of having three orchestras, one of the few in the country.

However, I didn’t have many opportunities to interact with them on a regular basis, and I felt that it was a waste to be friends who were passionate about music.

One day, from among my friends,

“When we played together, it felt fresh and interesting!” “I want to try Pops with an orchestra!”

This led to the creation of an executive committee.

“If I am going to form an orchestra, I would like to work with musicians who have ties to Gunma, mainly young people in Gunma.” With this in mind, we are recruiting members from music lovers with ties to Gunma Prefecture. We hope that this project will further revitalize music in Gunma. There are a lot of things I don’t understand, but I’m slowly but surely preparing for the concert.

▼Project details

We will be holding an orchestral concert on the theme of pop music, which is rarely talked about in circles.

The orchestra is formed by volunteers with connections to Gunma, mainly young people who are involved in music in Gunma.

After practicing six times, the concert will be held on January 19th at the Maebashi Hall of Shoken Gakuen.

The support we receive will be used to cover the following costs:

Sheet music fee: 200,000 yen

Hall fee: 250,000 yen

The shortfall will be covered by our own funds.

After the project is established, if the event cannot be held due to unavoidable circumstances such as a natural disaster (including the impact of the coronavirus such as a state of emergency), the schedule will be postponed.

ConductorMr. Naotsugu Nishida

(Professor, Department of Music, Faculty of Joint Education, Gunma University)

Forty years ago, I wanted to listen to Star Wars, so I was watching “Top 20 Movie Music” on TV. Other movie music steadily entered the rankings, and finally the first place was announced. My expectations were disappointed and I couldn’t listen to it until the end. I think many people have experienced my story of disappointment. Great music creates hopes and dreams to listen to, share with others, and spread the word. This concert is a big project created by the passion of these young people, and they are currently carrying out their dream in order to make it happen in Gunma, where they were born and raised. Starting a new project requires overcoming various difficulties. I was moved by their passion for music, and decided to join them as one of the conductors. For this project, they have come together beyond the boundaries of their regular orchestras, and are working together to perform and disseminate famous songs created from movies and other music with the lively, live sound of people playing them. Masu. And the music is sure to evoke emotion in those who listen to it. We would like to ask for your help in supporting this project of young people who will play a central role in Gunma’s culture in the future.

concert master Miyuna Kiso

My name is Kiso, and I will be the concertmaster of the Lustige Philharmonie. This orchestra is mainly made up of university students from Gunma Prefecture, who came together with the desire to perform together beyond the boundaries of their orchestral circles. We all have different experiences playing in orchestras, but our passion for music is irreplaceable. In this concert, we will try out songs based on movie music and musicals. These are songs that I don’t have many opportunities to play in the club I belong to. Even though I’m feeling anxious, I’m also excited to see what kind of performance I’ll be able to perform. We appreciate your support as we take on new challenges.

Principal viola player Ko Maehara

My name is Ko Maehara and I will be joining this orchestra this time. She is from Gunma Prefecture and is currently studying violin and viola at the Aichi Prefectural University of Arts, Faculty of Music, and is actively performing in the Kanto and Tokai regions. Originally, I was only interested in classical music. When I entered high school as a music major, I encountered pop music and film music, and as I listened to and played it, I started to like it. The music I particularly liked was John Williams. The music that sticks in your ears when you turn on the TV on a Friday night. When I first looked it up myself, I found the Berlin Phil. sound source and thought it was amazing. Since then, I have been listening to it almost every day (I still listen to it often!) I am very happy that the project has started to perform such my favorite pop orchestral music in Gunma, and I hope it will be a wonderful concert. , I would like to. In today’s music world, we hear people say, “I want to go to a concert!” and “I want to play more!” but it doesn’t really take shape. One thing, if concerts are born here, if music lovers can start moving little by little, if these things are connected, maybe one day we will live in a world filled with music. and. I would appreciate your help in making this project a success.
