In addition to the comedy division, theater troupe division, and talent division that are based within the prefecture, the company has newly established a Tokyo branch and an Ishigaki branch, with the aim of expanding its business both inside and outside the prefecture. The Tokyo branch was established when Benbee moved to Tokyo. By locating the company as a base, the company aims to provide a work environment for its talent who are taking on challenges in Tokyo.
The Ishigaki Branch will be home to the first-ever Ishigaki-based comedy duo, Babasupe, and they hope to enliven Ishigaki Island with their stage performances for tourists and sponsored live performances. They are also exploring overseas challenges, such as planning a comedy live performance at a private store in Taiwan run by Ryoko, an influencer from Taiwan who is a member of the group.
Chairman Hi-Pu says, “When Okinawa is praised as an island of entertainment, people tend to focus on Ryukyuan dance and music, but I think it’s also the strength of the Okinawan people themselves.They have great potential as comedians and actors.” He talked about possibilities.
