Did.
Yasuki Kamimori, Deputy Director-General of the Tohoku Regional Development Bureau, opened the meeting by saying, “We would like to work to further promote basin flood control that protects the region and disseminate it throughout the country.”
Next, as future flood disaster countermeasures, we will develop facilities that collect rainwater to suppress the rise in river water levels, guide residential areas to areas with low disaster risk, and install more small sensors to detect flooding. Efforts were introduced to help facilitate early evacuation.
After this, the future schedule was presented, and it was confirmed that they aim to formulate a plan for flood disaster prevention measures in the basin by the end of the fiscal year.
