The open innovation program “Sagamihara Innovation Gate” is open to companies in Sagamihara City who are motivated to develop new businesses and solve their own problems, and who are willing to take on demonstration projects aimed at developing new businesses, as well as the necessary technology and know-how. This is a support program for new business development through open innovation that recruits and matches partner companies with the following skills from all over the country.This program attracts new players to the city, creates new connections between companies in the city, and creates innovation in Sagamihara City. It was held for the first time in 2020 with the purpose of shaping the environment.

We are now starting to recruit city companies to participate in this program, which will be held for the second time in 2020.

(1) Target

Those who have a base (head office, production base, research institute, sales office, etc.) in Sagamihara City and are willing to work on the development of new products and services by collaborating with outside companies to develop new businesses and solve their own problems. companies.

(2) Application conditions

・The applicant must be a corporation with a base (head office, production base, research institute, sales office, etc.) in Sagamihara City.

・Have a business theme that you would like to collaborate with and co-create with outside companies.

・Companies that are passionate about this project and can actively participate.

・Achieve certain concrete results by not only considering the project, but also developing a prototype and conducting demonstration projects with an eye to future development within FY2026.

・For collaboration and co-creation, the applicant must be willing to actively provide its own management resources (technology, know-how, information, customer network, facilities, etc.). (Both parties will coordinate in advance regarding the provision of technology, information, etc.)

・Selected companies must actively cooperate with this project, such as by appearing at events related to this project from the following fiscal year onwards.

・The company must have an address in Japan and be a corporation established under domestic law.

・A person who does not fall under the provisions of Article 167-4 of the Local Autonomy Law Enforcement Ordinance.

・The applicant must not be under the suspension period of nomination by Sagamihara City.

・The Company or its officers are not members of organized crime groups or organized crime groups, nor have any socially reprehensible relationships with organized crime groups, such as involvement in management, and Declaring that you will not engage in violent demands, etc., and that this will not apply in the future.

*Companies of any size or industry are welcome as long as they meet the above application requirements.

*This applies even if it is not a demonstration project originating from a business in the city.In that case, in addition to having the person in charge of the city office strongly involved in the demonstration project, the city office should be actively utilized in carrying out the demonstration project, and the city should be involved in implementation and business considerations as much as possible after the demonstration project is completed. The condition is that it is carried out at the company’s office.

(3) Contents of support for selected host companies

・Search and acquire partner companies for realization

・Secure field for demonstration/coordination with related organizations

・Public relations activities and press releases by the city

・Project demonstration support fund of 1.12 million yen, etc.

(4) Participation fee

・Participation is free. However, please be aware of the following points.

・Please be responsible for any necessary expenses incurred by your company, such as transportation and communication costs, when discussing and proceeding with projects with companies inside and outside the city.

April 24th (Wednesday) – May 29th (Wednesday), 2024

(6) Screening method/planned number of selections

・Based on the content of the applications, the secretariat will select approximately 4 companies within the city (hereinafter referred to as host companies). The decision is scheduled for Friday, June 7, 2024. (Depending on the application status, the adoption decision may be delayed)

・After screening the entry documents, the secretariat (Sagamihara City and the management contractor eiicon) may conduct a hearing regarding the content of the application.

・Regarding acceptance or rejection, all applicants will be notified via their contact information (email address).
