With the theme of connecting the world through sign language and dance, Udiffle Co., Ltd. (Location: Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Representative: Hitoshi Kitamura) aims to realize a society where hearing and hearing people naturally connect. On the 4th, we will open a sign language cafe “UD Cafe & Bar -te to te-” in Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture. UD CAFE -te to te-, a sign language cafe that rents space in a restaurant in the same city and is open on weekends, has been relocated to an independent location in front of Hiratsuka Station, and is open as a sign language cafe during the day on Saturdays and Sundays, and as a bar every night. From June 1st, we will open the space during weekdays as a coworking space. The new store will create an environment where young people who are deaf or hard of hearing can work part-time, while fostering connections with the local community through borderless communication.

◆The model aimed at by the sign language cafe “UD Cafe & Bar -te to te-”

The employees who work at the sign language cafe “UD Cafe & Bar -te to te-” are mainly young people with hearing impairments who attend “UD DANCE SCHOOL”, a dance school run by UD Full Co., Ltd. in Hiratsuka City. Guests can order using sign language or a writing board. Even those who are not familiar with sign language can use the entertainment as an opportunity to learn it. By allowing guests to experience sign language while eating, drinking and dancing, we aim to deepen their understanding of people with hearing disabilities and revitalize the local community.
