Ono Sokki Minato Mirai new headquarters

Low noise microphone “MI-1282M10”

Our company has moved its headquarters functions from its previous location in Shin-Yokohama to Yokohama Connect Square in the Yokohama Minato Mirai area (3-3-3 Minato Mirai, Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture). The new headquarters has incorporated the opinions of young employees and created an environment that allows employees to freely choose workspaces that suit their mood and work content on a given day, accommodating a variety of work styles with the theme of “smiles.” By creating a single room rather than separating the floors with walls, we aim to maximize real-time interaction and communication between employees.

In addition, the partitions in the boardroom and reception room are made with iwasemi™ RC-α (manufactured by Pixie Dust Technologies Co., Ltd.), a sound-absorbing material that combines high sound absorption and a thin design. Our measurement technology is used in the company’s development of noise reduction technology. Due to the relocation of the new headquarters, the showroom function of the old headquarters building (Shin-Yokohama) has been transferred to our Yokohama Technical Center (1-16-1 Hakusan, Midori-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture).

In addition, the low-noise microphone “MI-1282M10” announced this time is the first 1/2-inch back electret type low-noise microphone in Japan (according to our research). As home appliances and car interiors become quieter in an effort to create a more comfortable sound environment, the need to measure minute sounds is on the rise. This product achieves a self-noise level (A-weighted) of 4.5 dB (Typ.), making it possible to measure minute sounds in the 10 dB range, which is difficult to measure with normal measurement microphones. Additionally, we will simultaneously release the SC-2600 sound calibrator (class 1, nominal sound pressure level: 94 dB, nominal frequency: 1 kHz) compatible with MI-1282M10, which is essential for obtaining accurate measurement values. Further details will be announced later.

① Achieved a self-noise level (A-weighting) of 4.5 dB (Typ.),

Industry-leading performance as a 1/2-inch back electret microphone (according to our research)

② Power supply uses CCLD (constant current drive)

③ Compatible with TEDS (generic term for formats that describe sensor-specific information incorporated in measurement sensors)

●Target market

Home appliances, automobiles, office equipment, etc.

●Features

Achieved self-noise level (A-weighting) of 4.5 dB (Typ.)

Measurements below 0 dB are possible in the 1/3 octave band, making it effective for frequency analysis of minute sounds.

Can be measured by directly connecting a BNC cable to CCLD (constant current drive) compatible equipment

No microphone amplifier is required, so wiring is simple even inside the vehicle.

When connected to a TEDS compatible measuring instrument, the sensitivity value is set, reducing measurement preparation time.

Contributes to increased work efficiency in multi-channel measurements that require time to prepare.

●Use examples

Sound power level measurement using our product “O-Solution/DS-5000”, etc.

[About Pixie Dust Technologies]

Established in 2017 with the aim of “building a symbiotic software platform for humans and computers.” In June 2018, we were selected as one of the growing startup companies “J-Startup companies” in the government startup support program “J-Startup” sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Yoichi Ochiai, an associate professor at the University of Tsukuba and a media artist, is the representative.

*Functions transferred from the old headquarters

The showroom at the former headquarters was relocated to Yokohama Technical Center.

Founded in 1954. Manufactures and sells electronic measuring instruments and conducts various engineering services. In the same year of its founding, the company developed Japan’s first tachometer to measure the rotational speed of jet engines. In the automobile industry, we provide research and development support and measurement technology during manufacturing processes in a wide range of fields, including motorcycles and automobiles, automobile parts, other construction machinery, food, and medical testing. During the second period (1983-1992) of automobile manufacturer Honda’s F1 racing activities, we provided technical support for the company’s victory, including custom production of an operation system for bench testing of V6 turbo engines. In addition, in recent years, the company has entered new business fields to help realize a carbon-neutral society, such as supporting the development of electric vehicles (EVs).
