Carp streamers displayed along the Zanbori River in Mizuho Town
On the 25th, the annual carp streamers appeared along the Zanbori River near Mizuho Town Hall in Tokyo. Approximately 100 colorful animals are displayed along a 200-meter stretch from the Chuo Bridge, and you can enjoy watching them waving in the wind.
Planned by the town tourism association for Children’s Day on May 5th. In addition to the carp streamers donated by families who no longer needed them, the carp streamers made by kindergarteners are very unique, with scales made from children’s handprints. A town official says, “We would like people from outside the town to come and see it.”
On May 12th, the final day, an event for children, “Kids Day♪ & Market,” will be held at Sayamaike Park, where you can play with air toys, kids cars, and more. (Kyota Matsushima)
