Regarding the Liberal Democratic Party’s House of Councilors member Gaku Hasegawa (Hokkaido constituency), whose coercive behavior toward Sapporo city and Hokkaido officials has become a problem, multiple officials in Obihiro city have also explained that they have been reprimanded. Obihiro City investigated the issue after Sapporo Mayor Katsuhiro Akimoto and others pointed out the problem. Several respondents said they had been subjected to intimidating behavior during phone calls and meetings with Hasegawa.
