Ranked by growth rate of number of booked nights compared to the same period last year
As a result of ranking the prefectures in descending order of increase in number of booked nights compared to the same period last year, first place went to Fukui Prefecture, which is receiving much attention for the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen line in March 2024.

・1st place: Fukui Prefecture
・2nd place: Nagasaki prefecture

1st place Fukui Prefecture
The number one prefecture, Fukui Prefecture, has become easier to access from the Kanto area due to the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen in March 2024, and the total number of prefectures has increased by more than 1.2 times compared to the same period last year. In particular, reservations are increasing strongly, mainly in the area around Tsuruga Station and Fukui Station, which are the terminal stations of the extension.
The Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum reopened in July 2023, providing new topics. By accommodation type, travel with children has been particularly strong, with an increase of approximately 1.9 times compared to the same period last year.
2nd place Nagasaki prefecture
In Nagasaki Prefecture, which came in second place, growth in the area around Huis Ten Bosch was particularly strong, with the number of reservations in this area increasing by approximately 1.3 times compared to the same period last year. At Huis Ten Bosch, you can enjoy seasonal flowers blooming along the streets of Europe and one of the world’s largest illuminations, and a new ride attraction, Mission Deepsea Xsense Ride, opened in March of this year.
During Golden Week, there are plans to hold limited-time events and the “One Million Rose Festival,” where you can enjoy roses, which is attracting a lot of attention from tourists. In Nagasaki Prefecture as a whole, reservations are mainly for two people, a man and a woman, and one man, and the number of people traveling with children is particularly strong compared to the same period last year.
3rd place Nara Prefecture
Third place went to Nara Prefecture. Nara Prefecture is experiencing strong growth in the number of inbound reservations, and Rakuten Travel has the highest rate of increase in inbound reservations during Golden Week among all prefectures (Note).
Furthermore, in recent years, new lodging facilities, including high-end lodging facilities, have continued to open, attracting attention from travelers.
Among Japanese travelers, the highest rate of travel is for a man and a woman, and the number of reservations is also trending well, indicating that it is attracting attention both domestically and internationally.
