Lawson Tateyama Town Hall store with attached bookstore opens on the morning of the 26th in Tateyama Town, Toyama Prefecture

On the 26th, Lawson and Nippon Shuppan Hanbai opened the “Lawson Tateyama Town Hall Store” in Tateyama Town, Toyama Prefecture, which includes a bookstore with a full selection of products. According to Nippon Shuppan Sales, Tateyama Town is one of the municipalities with “zero bookstores” as there is no bookstore. The aim is to improve convenience for local residents and attract customers.

The store, which will open on the grounds of the Tateyama Town Hall, will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and will carry about 4,000 titles of books, including manga, novels, and magazines, in addition to products sold at regular convenience stores. The store also has a space where local residents can interact.

On this day, the store’s first day of operation, many residents visited the store from the time it opened at 8 a.m., with some looking through the books displayed inside the store.
