BAR BiTT is a popular bar located in Hikari no Mori, Kikuyo Town.

The owner, Nao Ogata, trained at a French bistro in her hometown of Tokyo, and serves French tapas (small plates) made with healthy ingredients, mainly from Kyushu.

At noon, one-plate lunches such as curry, taco rice, and pasta are popular. There are about 10 types of pasta, one of the one-plate lunches, including Japanese-style and cream-based ones.

The pasta noodles are made with fresh pasta ordered from a noodle factory in Kagoshima City, which Mr. Ogata selected after sampling noodles from all over the country. You can choose from two types of noodles: fettuccine (flat noodles) and spaghetti.

Among the pastas, Mr. Ogata recommends the “Seafood Pasta with Tomato Sauce.” The tomato sauce made with whole tomatoes and aromatic vegetables is slowly simmered with lots of mussels, clams, and large shrimp, making it a filling dish. It has a rich and complex flavor that goes perfectly with the chewy texture of fettuccine.

The accompanying French side dishes such as carrot rabe and pickles are also colorful and delicious. It’s very satisfying content. One-plate lunches can be ordered during business hours from Tuesday to Thursday, and until 4:00 p.m. from Friday to Sunday.

The showcase at the store is lined with French side dishes such as “Gizzard Confit” and “Simmered Tripe in Tomato Sauce.” You can enjoy it as tapas inside the restaurant, or take it out.
