Conduct (Kitakyushu City, representative: Katsuyuki Wada), which is involved in the real estate industry, announced on the 25th that it will open a restaurant area called “Suimushibaimai Kuwarakuwara – Makishishitamachi Yatai Village” near Kibogaoka Park in Makishi, Naha City. A ceremony was held to mark the completion of construction. 17 restaurants will be exhibiting and will start operating from May 23rd.

Current students and alumni of the Prefectural University of Arts created murals, Shisa statues, logo designs, and other items to decorate the building. The building received construction know-how from the University of the Ryukyus and utilized surplus construction materials that would normally be disposed of. At the completion ceremony, students from the Prefectural University of the Arts performed Ryukyuan performing arts.

Riori Matsuzaki (23), a graduate student at the Prefectural University of the Arts, who designed the mural, said, “Since this is a place where many tourists come, I painted the flora and fauna in vivid colors that clearly convey the image of Okinawa.”
