[Miyakojima]Due to the power outage that occurred throughout Miyakojima City for eight and a half hours starting early on the 25th, Okinawa Electric Power Company’s Miyako Branch Manager Mamoru Higa visited Mayor Kazuyuki Zakimi at City Hall on the morning of the 26th and apologized for the power outage. At the beginning of the meeting, Higa branch manager apologized to Mayor Zakimi, saying, “We apologize for the inconvenience and inconvenience caused to the citizens.” He explained the circumstances surrounding the power outage and the response.

The power outage occurred at 3:12 a.m. on the 25th, and was fully restored at 11:42 a.m. There was major disruption to the lives of citizens, with hospitals in the city closing their outpatient clinics and children at elementary and junior high schools being forced to study in dimly lit classrooms. The school was unable to provide school lunches and took measures such as sending students home from around noon.
