According to Evernote’s official X account, the closure is part of an organizational restructuring. It says there will be “no real impact” on users.

Evernote’s Japanese subsidiary, Evernote (Chuo-ku, Tokyo), announced its dissolution in the official gazette used to publicize laws, government ordinances, etc., but since the Japanese corporation did not notify users, Some users posted questions such as “Is the service ending?” and “Will it become unusable?”

In response to this situation, the official Evernote X account announced, “Customers in Japan can continue to use Evernote as before.” I moved to put out this confusion.

On the other hand, looking at the content posted on X, there are many people saying things like “I want to switch from Evernote to Notion.”

Notion’s advantage is that you can not only take notes, but also create and share documents, manage projects, tasks, schedules, and organize your thoughts and information in one tool. The reason it is considered a likely migration destination is “because it imports from Evernote.”

Data stored in Evernote can be transferred directly to Notion. The steps are as follows.

1. Select Evernote from the import window
2. Sign in to your Evernote account
3. Accept Evernote to connect to Notion
4. Once your Evernote accounts are linked, check the box next to the notebook you want to move and click Import

Note that Evernote notebooks are stored as pages in Notion’s sidebar, and notes are saved as items in a list-style database. You can also drag and drop notes to other locations within Notion.
