The recipients of this year’s “Spring Medal” have been announced, with nine people from Okinawa Prefecture receiving the award.

Of these, five will receive the Medal with Yellow Ribbon, which is given to those who have devoted themselves to their field for many years.

Nobu Kamikado (60), the president of a tile construction company in Naha City; Seiichi Kishaba (72), a mail collection and delivery contractor from Nakagusuku Village; and Takeshi Shimanaka (64), from Tomigusuku City, who maintains aircraft for an airline company. They are Kenkazu Chibana (65) of Tomigusuku City, who also maintains aircraft for an airline company, and Toshiko Miyahira (77) of Kumejima Town, a dyeing and weaving engineer who has protected cultural properties.

Four people will receive the Medal with Blue Ribbon, which is given to people who have contributed to society through public work.

Gen Ikeda (76), a probation officer from Ishigaki City, Chizuko Ikehara (76), also a probation officer, from Yomitan Village, Atsuko Oshiro (60) from Naha City, who served as a household budget investigator, and an administrative consultant from Chatan Town. My name is Masako Momohara (78).

In addition, Eiko Urasaki (77), a labor force surveyor who is domiciled in Okinawa but lives in Tokyo, will also receive the Medal with Blue Ribbon.

Among them, Chizuko Ikehara, who has been working as a probation officer for over 20 years to support the recovery of people released from prisons and juvenile training schools, said, “When I first became a probation officer, the child I was in charge of was a “womako”. Looking back on his activities, he said, “I remember being very happy when I heard that he had grown up well and was working as a construction worker.”

He then expressed his gratitude for receiving the award, saying, “The reason I have been able to serve for so many years is because of the support of my family, friends, and other people around me,” adding that he is focusing his efforts on nurturing his successor. I was talking about it.
