[Yamanashi Prefecture]

Yamanashi Prefecture (Governor: Kotaro Nagasaki) is carrying out various initiatives within the prefecture with the aim of discovering and improving the appeal of Yamanashi.
Among them, Yamanashi Prefecture introduced a candidate site for a production factory base and invited companies from Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. As a “Yamanashi support project” aiming to revitalize local industry through beer brewing, we released a new craft beer “Far Yeast Peach Haze” on May 23 (Tuesday).

■ Beer production in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture

Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. was established in 2011 as Nippon Craft Beer Co., Ltd., and changed its name to the current “Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd.” in 2015. In 2017, we launched our first factory, Genryu Brewery, in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, and moved our head office from Shibuya, Tokyo to Kosuge Village in October 2020. When we started looking for a place to relocate, we had many customers in Tokyo and overseas, so we first wanted to set up a factory in the Kanto region. Then, I found a factory in Kosuge village, which is surrounded by rich nature and has the headwaters of the Tama River, which is ideal for beer production, and chose it as a base.

■ New product overview

This product is a hazy style fruit pale ale that uses plenty of peaches from the peach farmer “Peach Senka Yamashita” in Yamanashi City.
In July 2020, it was born as the first product of the “Yamanashi Support Project” that communicates the charm of Yamanashi through beer in collaboration with local Yamanashi producers. Since then, it has been brewed and sold every year, and it is a popular product that sells out immediately every time. As a brewery in Yamanashi, a major production area of peaches, we have been positioning it as a standard product for spring and summer since last year, in order to continuously deliver products using delicious peaches to our fans. This year, the fourth year, we are aiming to produce 1.5 times the amount of last year so that we can enjoy it all summer.
