“City Hunter” was serialized by Mr. Hojo in “Weekly Shonen Jump” (Shueisha) in 1985. A work depicting the activities of Ryo Saeba (*Ryo = Kemonohen ni Dormitory), a top-notch sweeper based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, who takes on the task of solving various troubles in the underworld.

The Netflix movie “City Hunter” is set in modern-day Shinjuku. The story depicts the beginnings of Ryo Saeba (Suzuki), Kaori Makimura (Nozomi Morita), and Hideyuki Makimura (Masanobu Ando) as “City Hunters.” Kimura will play the role of Saeko Nogami, a talented detective at the Metropolitan Police Department.
Morita, Ando, Fumino Kimura, director Yuichi Sato, and Tetsuya Komuro also appeared at the event. Suzuki said, “I never expected such a big event to be held in Shinjuku, the sacred place of City Hunter, so I’m grateful to everyone and excited that it’s finally starting.It’s gotten off to a great start.” I think so!” he said with a smile.
