The meeting starts with a simple greeting
The scenery of Mt. Fuji is completely different when climbing from the Shizuoka Prefecture side and from the Yamanashi Prefecture side.
A meeting that reminded us of this was held on November 15th, US West Coast time (the morning of the 16th, Japan time). The U.S.-China summit meeting between President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping was held for about four hours, including lunch, at the Filoli Residence in Shoen, about 40 kilometers south of San Francisco.
This is the second time that the two leaders have met, the first being the meeting in Bali, Indonesia, on November 14 last year.
President Biden was flanked by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and five others on his right hand, and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and five others on his left. On the other hand, President Xi Jinping is accompanied by four people, including Tsai Qi, a member of the Party Standing Committee and director of the Central Office, on his right hand, and five people, including Wang Yi, a member of the Party Central Politburo, director of the Office of the Party Central Foreign Affairs Work Committee, and foreign minister, on his left. Ta.
At the beginning, it all started with a relatively simple greeting to each other.
president biden“I’m happy to see President (Xi Jinping) again. We’ve spent a lot of time together over the last 10 or 12 years, and especially today’s summit and this week’s APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit. It is a great honor and pleasure to invite you to America in connection with the conference.
I want you to see it. About this time this year. One year and one day ago, we met in Bali during the G20 (major countries and regions) summit meeting. Since then, key members of our team have engaged in important discussions for both our countries and the world.”
