A spring garden party hosted by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress was held on the 23rd at Akasaka Gyoen National Garden in Moto-Akasaka, Tokyo. This is the third time it has been held since the Reiwa era. Princess Aiko, the eldest daughter of Their Majesties, attended for the first time and exchanged words with invited guests with smiles.

Approximately 1,400 people from various fields attended the event, including actor Kinya Kitaoji, contemporary artist Tadanori Yokoo, and Yoshihiko Yoshihiko, chairman of the prefectural assembly of Ishikawa Prefecture, which was severely damaged by the Noto Peninsula earthquake. Meals, which had been withheld due to the coronavirus pandemic, were also provided for the first time in five and a half years.

The female members of the imperial family wore Western dresses, and their brightly colored attire created a colorful atmosphere at the venue.
