WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Biden signed into law on the 24th a bill that would ban the use of the Chinese short video posting app TikTok in the United States.

In response to this, TikTok’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zhou Shui said, “We are not going anywhere.” “The facts and the Constitution are on our side, and we are hopeful that we will win again,” he said, making it clear that he plans to fight the case in court.

The law requires ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, to sell the app’s U.S. assets within about nine months, and if it does not comply, the app will be banned nationwide.

“This is definitely a ban on TikTok,” Chou said, stressing that as long as TikTok challenges these restrictions, it will continue to operate.
