[Beirut Kyodo]Former Nissan Chairman Carlos Ghosn filed suit in Lebanon, where he fled, seeking approximately $1 billion (approximately 147 billion yen) in damages from Nissan and company officials, alleging defamation. On the 18th, the Lebanese judge decided to postpone the preliminary hearing scheduled for that day. Nissan officials were absent. This was revealed by a judicial official.

The judge in charge sent a letter requesting the attendance of the 16 Nissan officials involved in the lawsuit to hear their opinions directly, but no one except representatives for both Ghosn and Nissan appeared at the designated location. The next date has not been set, and the outlook for future hearings is unclear.
