Nippon Ham announced on the 18th that they have re-signed pitchers Kaki Mokuren, Matsumoto Ryōdai, and Saito Shinji as developmental players. The three players were announced as free agents on October 31st.
During his time at Osaka Toin High School, Kakinoki won the Koshien tournament in the summer of 2003, along with Neo (Chunichi) and Fujiwara (Lotte). He entered the professional ranks in the 5th pick of the 2018 draft. He pitched in four games in 2022, including his first appearance in the first team, but was given a training contract during the off-season of the same year after being declared unavailable.
