On April 25th, the domestic game production team Takeseki Koubou announced the_turing” Steam store page has been released. The work is scheduled to be released in spring 2024 for iOS/Android/Steam (planned). On Takeseki Kobo’s official website, there was an uncertain description of the Steam version, but it seems that they are moving towards an official release.

“_turing” is a science fiction adventure game where your character and ending change depending on the content of your conversations with an AI heroine. In this game, the player is alone with Iris in a spaceship. The heroine, Iris, wants to have a conversation with her player in order to learn about her human emotions. Therefore, in this game, the player teaches her the “correct” feelings. Through her free conversations with the heroine’s AI Iris, the story depicts Iris’ changes as she learns of her emotions and her ending.

In this work, you can have a free conversation with Iris using a language model. Judging from the demo video, it appears that players will be able to freely input words to Iris in this game. The response from Iris is output by the language model. By using AI, conversations are generated in real time, making it possible to have free conversations. In addition, in this game, AI analyzes the content of conversations in the game. The story after the middle stage changes depending on the content. It seems that the messages and conversations you enter become flags (conditions), and the story branches.

Takeseki Kobo, which is working on this game, is a game production team that originated from the University of Tsukuba. In the past, they have released the ADV “Re:Bus”, an ADV set on a late-night bus, and the novel game “Millennium Witch” as free games.

This work “_turing” was planned by master’s students training in dialogue systems at Tokyo Institute of Technology, and produced by master’s students and graduates of Kyoto University, University of Tsukuba, and University of Electro-Communications (Famitsu.com). Development has been progressing after participating in “Tokyo Game Dungeon 4”. Also, at the time of announcement, this work was said to be for iOS/Android. The Steam store page has been released this time, and it seems that the PC version is also officially in the works.

“_turing” is scheduled to be released in spring 2024 for iOS/Android/PC (Steam). Takeseki Kobo is also scheduled to exhibit at “Tokyo Game Dungeon 5” to be held in Hamamatsucho, Tokyo on May 4th. At the venue, you will be able to experience the chat dialogue of this work.
