Akko Gorilla

In addition to giving gender lectures at universities, Akko Gorilla conducts unique expression activities that transcend gender, nationality, age, and industry barriers, such as street live performances involving villagers in Malawi, the African continent. In addition, in the book “Sociology of Reiwa GALS” (Shufunotomosha/authored by Yuki Mihara, Akko Gorilla, Yukino Nagai), while exposing his own conflicts about “What is empowerment in today’s society?” He was trying to grasp a feeling that felt right for him in his deep thoughts with an eye on the social situation. That attitude is exactly the part that links to the message we want to convey at this event.

Started his career as a drummer, and after the band disbanded, turned to a rapper in 2015. In 2017 he won the CINDERELLA MC BATTLE. In 2018, announced the 1st ALBUM “GRRRLISM” with the theme of beauty, sex and diversity of life. In 2019, he became the main navigator of J-WAVE “SONAR MUSIC”. He became independent and established Gori-chan Company in 2022. He is energetically active, such as providing music for the popular anime “Kaguya-sama wants to tell you” episode 5 ED. 2022 “Magma Series” will start. The origin of the gorilla is seaweed.

The message of this event is “I want to create a society where each person can pay more attention to their mind and body, take care of themselves, and live hand in hand.” When I wanted to convey this feeling to many people with music, I thought that Rihwa, who has a warm and enveloping singing voice and a strong will as a singer, could make it happen. In addition, Rihwa, who is a supporter of “LOVE49”, which conducts activities related to cervical cancer, is an artist who is a perfect fit for the world view of this event, as she communicates about women’s mental and physical health.

A singer-songwriter from Sapporo, Hokkaido. She spent three years in high school in Belleville, Canada. The country music that was playing in the city naturally soaked into her body, and she started producing her own songs based on country music. She made her major debut in 2012, and in 2013, the insert song “Last Love” of the drama “Last Cinderella” recorded 1st place on iTunes for 14 consecutive days. In the following year, she released “Harukaze” as the theme song for the drama “Boku no Ita Jikan”, and achieved 1st place on iTunes for 5 consecutive weeks. She will celebrate her 10th anniversary on July 11, 2022, and she will release the 10th anniversary album “The Legacy EP” produced by KT Tunstall.

[Content 2]Special Healthcare Talk
After the live performance, a talk session will be held between the musicians and experts. The themes of the program are SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) and Sex Education. In addition to being a valuable opportunity to hear musicians’ thoughts on health care, sessions with women’s health care professionals provide solid information and knowledge.

Talk 1: Learning with Akko Gorilla, SRHR to take care of your mind and body
“SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health/Rights)” refers to experiences in life from the time a person is born, such as love, sex, contraception, pregnancy, abortion, childbirth, gender, and life planning. The right to have one’s will respected and to make one’s own decisions in all sexual and reproductive matters, and to be in a state of physical, mental and social well-being and good health. increase. Even in today’s world where individual life plans are gradually diversifying, there are still many people who are confused by the opinions of those around them and who waver in their own way of life and thinking. Using the still-unknown SRHR as a theme, we will discuss what we can do from now on to live our lives with care.

Talk 2: To live your own life. The story of sex education that even adults want to learn
“The content covered in sex education in Japan is limited, and it is not possible to learn enough about sexuality.” Such things are starting to be said not only in the field of education, but also by domestic and foreign intellectuals. With sex education full of issues, we will receive a message from a doctor who is leading the promotion of women’s health about what we adults can do to update sex education. In addition, we plan to hold a quiz with those who participated in the venue in order to make it an opportunity to learn about the actual situation of sex education around the world. We hope that learning about sex education will serve as an opportunity to nurture a positive sense of life.

■ Event concept

To open the door to a new and freer world.
Let’s start talking about our minds and bodies.

Our hearts and bodies change every moment.
There may be times when I’m so energetic that there’s not a single cloudiness,
There are times when I don’t know the reason and my heart is full of worry,
Sometimes I feel uneasy about the state of my body, which is somewhat different from usual.
everyone more or less
We live with fluctuations and ups and downs.

However, it should be fine if it’s about this much…
What to do, who to consult, whether to consult
Sometimes I don’t understand.
That’s how women listen to their bodies and hearts,
To treat with care, to put it into words,
It may not have been natural to actively face each other.

For example, menstruation, trying to conceive, troubles unique to women’s bodies, and sex.
Even about myself, “I don’t know”
If you are dating while giving up,
In fact, by understanding the mechanism of mind and body,
You can take more back into your hands.

To know your body is to acquire a heart that takes care of yourself.
When you learn to take care of yourself
I can respect someone taking care of themselves,
You can even share the wisdom of caring for yourself with someone you care about.

With that reassuring circulation,
Your outlook on life, your lifestyle, the form of affection you have for yourself and others,
You may be able to become more free and open the door to a new world.

Why don’t we all talk about “our healthy”?
Bringing mental and physical health to culture. Let’s start the story of “healthy” in the new era.

■ Present campaign

If you participate in the event on the day of the event, collect the slogans announced in the program and answer the questionnaire, 100 people will be selected by lottery. “Women’s Life Cycle”, a sex education pamphlet “ Connect BOOK” created based on SRHR that allows you to decide about your own sexuality, and a gift set of “Our Healthy” original goods.

■ Women’s Health Action

In the Women’s Health Action Executive Committee, the national and local governments, medical and educational sites, workplaces, families, and communities all work together to think about the necessity and challenges of promoting women’s health in modern Japan. We are working on it.
During puberty, pregnancy and childbirth, menopause, and old age, women experience significant changes in their hormone balance throughout their lives. Appear. Due to fluctuations in female hormones, women are prone to mental and physical disorders accompanied by a decline in quality of life (QOL) such as irregular menstruation, menstrual pain, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), insomnia and depression. Reducing women’s health risks promotes women’s self-actualization and social participation at each stage of their lives, and is a force that promotes the economic development and vitality of Japan as a whole.
Currently, there are movements in various places to strengthen support for women’s health promotion according to life stages such as puberty, pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause.
