“THE SECOND ~Manzai Tournament~” final pairings have been decided! The Punch is a finalist for the first time in 16 years!

“THE SECOND – Manzai Tournament” is a manzai award race in which manzai artists who have been together for over 16 years compete with each other with their best stories.

On April 25th, a tournament drawing and press conference was held and the finalists attended.
The eight groups that won the tournament were Tamons, Hanjiro, Namagari, Metal Bat, The Punch, Time Machine No. 3, Gakutensoku, and Rough Jigen.

The 8 groups will compete in the Grand Prix Final for the prize of 10 million yen and the title of “THE SECOND’s 2nd Champion.”
Contestants draw lots to determine the order of the tournament. The first match will be Hanjiro vs. Metal Bat, the second match will be Rough Jigen vs. Gakutensoku, the third match will be Nanamari vs. Tamons, and the fourth match will be Time Machine No. 3 vs. The Punch.

Among the finalists, The Punch (Punch Hamasaki, No Punch Matsuo) has the longest career in the entertainment industry.
When he drew number 8 in the lottery and was selected as the “Otori” for the fourth game, Matsuo said, “I didn’t want to show up early and have to wait a long time once the game was over, so I’m a little disappointed in this final.” I think you’ll enjoy the round,” he said enthusiastically.
