[フィラデルフィア 23日 ロイター] – According to Edison Research, President Biden and former President Trump won overwhelming victories in the Democratic and Republican primaries held on the 23rd in Pennsylvania, a battleground state for the U.S. presidential election.
However, in the Republican primary, former United Nations Ambassador Haley, who withdrew from the presidential race, won about 20% of the votes with a vote count of 33%. The move underscores the continued dissatisfaction among some Republicans with Trump, who is facing criminal charges.
Haley’s name remained on the ballot. Only registered Republicans can participate in the primary; independents who supported Haley will not be able to vote.
According to state data, with about 50% of the votes counted in the Democratic primary, Biden received 94.4% of the vote, while Representative Dean Phillips, who withdrew, received 5.6%.
In the Republican primary, with 33% of votes counted, Trump received 79.4% of the vote and Haley 20.6%.
Muslim and Arab voters are running a campaign in Pennsylvania to gather votes critical of Mr. Biden to protest the Gaza conflict. Organizers of the campaign are aiming for 40,000 “no supporters” votes, but the results are not expected to be known until after the 24th.
Biden and Trump are already confirmed to win their party’s nomination.
