Toyota unveils new battery EVs “bZ3C” and “bZ3X” for the world first time at the Beijing Motor Show, plans to release them in China within a year – Car Watch

Toyota Motor Corporation will exhibit at the Beijing International Motor Show on April 25th (Press Days: April 25th to 26th, Trade Days: April 27th to 28th, Public Open Days: April 29th to May 4th). Toyota unveiled its new BEV (battery electric vehicle) “bZ3C” and “bZ3X” for the first time in the world, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality through multi-pathways.

The bZ3C and bZ3X will be concept cars unveiled at the 2023 Shanghai International Motor Show, and will be upgraded models in preparation for mass production, and are scheduled to go on sale in China within the next year.

The bZ3C was jointly developed by Toyota, BYD TOYOTA EV TECHNOLOGY Company Limited, FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., and Toyota Intelligent Electric Vehicle Research and Development Center (China) Co., Ltd. (IEM by TOYOTA), and is an active and A crossover BEV with iconic styling. We are pursuing functions that allow young people, known as Generation Z, to enjoy a personal space.

The bZ3X was jointly developed by Toyota, Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Toyota Motor Co., Ltd., and IEM by TOYOTA, and is based on the concept of “COZY HOME”, which means a comfortable moving home, and provides comfortable living in a large space. This is a family-friendly SUV type BEV.

Both models are equipped with the latest driver assistance systems and smart cockpits, offering safe and comfortable driving as well as new experiential value.

Toyota will introduce its efforts in China to transform into a mobility company with a focus on intelligence, electrification, and diversification, and the theme is to create new value through products and services tailored to user needs. Exhibited at the Beijing International Motor Show.

At a press conference held on the same day, Toyota Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Hiroki Nakajima said, “What is a BEV that will make Chinese customers smile?” ‘ and ‘bZ3X,”’ he said, introducing the new model.
