This is the first time in about five years that BUMP OF CHICKEN has released an album since “aurora arc” released in July 2019. Furthermore, BUMP OF CHICKEN will hold a dome tour “BUMP OF CHICKEN TOUR 2024 Sperry Rendezvous” from September to October with the album. The tour will begin at Saitama’s Belluna Dome on September 7th and end at Fukuoka’s Mizuho PayPay Dome on October 27th, with a total of 7 performances in 4 cities. Those who pre-order the album early will receive a serial number that will allow them to apply for the earliest ticket lottery for the tour. Reservations at each CD shop and EC site will start tomorrow, April 26th at 10:00.
In addition, the music video for “Encounter” was released on YouTube. The music video was directed by Kyotaro Hayashi, a close friend of the group who has worked on many music videos for recent BUMP OF CHICKEN songs such as “Nanairo,” “Chronostasis,” and “From the Window.” In the MV, you can see the four lyrical members standing on the surface of the water and performing. In the second half of the video, the countless dancers dancing in the air and the dancers wrapped in white costumes overlap, creating a mysterious world view.
