Singer Nanase Aikawa (49), who was selected by Tochigi Prefecture as the newly established “Prefectural Cultural Property Officer” to serve as an advisor for the utilization of cultural properties and dissemination of information, attended the commissioning ceremony held at the prefectural office and was presented by Governor Tomichi Fukuda. I received a commission letter from.

“Up until now, I’ve only seen things on my own, but from now on, I’d like to be fully involved in the many cultural properties in Tochigi Prefecture,” Aikawa said of his aspirations. “Until now, I had focused on intangible cultural assets such as festivals, but now that I know that there are so many tangible cultural assets in the prefecture, I want to learn how to pass them on,” he said with enthusiasm.

Aikawa, who has hit songs such as “Yumeru Shoujo wa Iranai,” decided to “relearn” and entered the Faculty of Shinto Culture at Kokugakuin University in 2020 after passing the high school graduation certification exam. She says she has studied by visiting festivals and Shinto rituals that have been passed down throughout the country. After graduating this spring, she will go to graduate school and aim to balance her studies with her singing career. (Yasuhiro Muto)
