GW Weather Forecast 2024 Golden Week skies will not be clear until midway through – Weather News

This year’s Golden Week begins with a three-day holiday this weekend, followed by three weekdays and then a four-day holiday in the second half. The longest day of the week is 10 consecutive holidays.

As with this time of year, the pressure distribution changes every few days, and low pressure and fronts are likely to have a recurring effect.

During the first half of the three-day weekend, it will rain on the 27th (Saturday) from the Kanto region to the west of the Pacific Ocean. The weather will temporarily improve on the 28th (Sunday), but rain is expected to start falling again from the west on the 29th (Monday). Thereafter, there is a possibility of widespread rain from the 30th (Tuesday) to May 1st (Wednesday) due to the effects of low pressure.

Additionally, Okinawa is expected to have many cloudy and rainy days, similar to the rainy season, as fronts often stay close to each other. Although there will be times when the sun will reach us, there will also be times when it rains heavily.

The latter half of the four-day weekend will be covered by a mobile anticyclone, and more and more areas will be sunny. There is a chance of rain in western Japan, but compared to the three-day weekend in the first half, there will likely be more open skies where you can enjoy going out.

Although there is no forecast for any noticeable cold weather from now on, maximum temperatures are expected to rise, especially during this weekend’s three-day weekend. There are many summer days where the maximum temperature is over 25 degrees Celsius, and in some places it can reach as high as 30 degrees Celsius.

In the middle of Golden Week, the maximum temperature tends to be lower due to unfavorable weather. Although it won’t be a strong cold, there will be days in northern Japan where the minimum temperature will drop below 10℃.

Temperatures are expected to rise again towards the end of Golden Week.

When going away for a trip or returning home, be sure to prepare clothes that will allow you to easily adjust your perceived temperature to accommodate the daily and regional temperature differences.
