LION x Japan Dental Association special event held at Kidzania Tokyo

June 4, 2024 (Tuesday) Free invitation to 600 groups and 1,200 people

Lion Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President Executive Officer: Yukiyuki Takemori) and the Japan Dental Association (President: Hideto Takahashi) have announced that on June 4, 2024, during “Teeth and Oral Health Week*1” On Tuesday), a special event will be held at Kidzania Tokyo, where Lion Corporation is an official sponsor, where children can interact with dentists. Parents and children will learn about proper oral care in a fun way, get them interested in their own “teeth and oral health,” deepen their understanding of dentists’ work, and spread awareness of the importance of preventive dentistry.

*1 This is a weekly event held from June 4th to 10th every year as a campaign to popularize and educate people about dental hygiene. This year as well, various events will be held in each prefecture, with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Japan Dental Association, and the Japan School Dental Association as central sponsors.

Dentists who are members of the Japan Dental Association and dental hygienists will hold hands-on events.

① Dental checkup experience for parents and children

One dentist will accompany each parent and child and explain how to observe the inside of the mouth. Using a dental mirror, not only can parents look inside their children’s mouths, but children can also observe the insides of their parents’ mouths and each other’s mouths, allowing them to improve their oral health. We hope that you will be interested in care and the work of dentists and dental hygienists.

➁ Personalized oral care advice from dentists

Based on the results created during the dental checkup experience, the dentist will provide oral care advice that is tailored to each individual, and will also convey the importance of dental prevention.

The dental hygienist will provide guidance on basic self-care (how to brush your teeth and tongue, how to use floss, etc.).

◆Lecture event “Learn with dentists!” Preventive dentistry that you can start doing today

A preventive dentistry lecture and quiz will be held by a dentist who is a member of the Japan Dental Association and a dental hygienist from the Lion Dental Hygiene Research Institute. You will learn about the causes of cavities, the importance of oral care and regular checkups while actually seeing and experiencing the tools used at the dental clinic and answering quizzes. Parents can also participate.
