Keikyu Corporation (Yokohama City) will be offering commemorative rides during the “Daikaichō Hoshu” (May 1st to May 31st), which is held once every 10 years at Kawasaki Daishi Heikenji Temple (Kawasaki Ward, Kawasaki City). Tickets will be sold and commemorative events will be held, including the town walking event “Town Trek” (held on the 25th). Sponsored by Kawasaki City’s 100th anniversary commemorative project and National Urban Greening Kawasaki Fair Executive Committee.

During the Daikaicho service, the principal image is unveiled and a special talisman called “red tag” is awarded. According to Kawasaki Daishi, about 2 million people visited the last time in May 2014.

The commemorative ticket is a set of 5 tickets including Kawasaki Daishi Station – Kagetsu Sojiji Station, Kawasaki Daishi Station – Aomono Yokocho Station, etc. The ticket with the original goshuin book is 3,000 yen, and the commemorative ticket alone is 1,500 yen. Both are limited to 1,000 copies. It will go on sale at Kawasaki Daishi Station from 7 a.m. on the 1st. During the period, the Keikyu Daishi Line will display a commemorative head mark with a Daruma motif on some trains.

The Town Trek will start and finish at Kawasaki Racecourse’s Inner Baba Lawn Plaza (1 Fujimi, Kawasaki-ku). The races will start at 9:30 a.m. on the 25th, with a three-hour time limit. Enjoy walking around the city by visiting checkpoints and competing for points, either alone or in a group. Prizes will be awarded to the top winners. All participants will receive a sticker of Keikyu’s mascot character “Keikyun”.
