After the comedy duo Westland’s Futoshi Kawamoto (40) got into trouble with a taxi driver on the night of the 20th, Mitsuyo Ota, the president of his agency, responded to a phone interview with ORICON NEWS. Bunshun Online, broadcast on the 23rd, reported on the trouble between Kawamoto and the taxi driver. Regarding the situation at the time, President Mitsuyo said, “It seems like he was drinking with a friend from Okayama (his hometown) on the night of the 20th.He had been drinking until the last train, and was about to go home alone when a taxi stopped. “The bus was dropping off people, so when they tried to get on it (as it wasn’t a boarding area) the door was closed, and Kawamoto thought he was being refused boarding and kicked the back of the car.”

The driver who had been kicked got out of the car, and a scuffle ensued, and when the driver tried to hold him down, Kawamoto, who was drunk, fell to the ground with force and three of his teeth were broken. Although his face was injured, Kawamoto also bit the driver’s arm. The incident was later questioned by the police, but the incident was not made into an incident, and it turned out to be a “fight,” he said. Regarding the taxi driver’s injuries, President Mitsuyo said, “We will compensate you for everything,” and added, “There was also a fear that the taxi driver’s personal information would be revealed. It’s already in shape, and we’re talking about making sure it doesn’t come out in that area.”

The next day, the 21st, he had a job with Westland, but president Mitsuyo said, “At that time, I hadn’t seen Kawamoto’s situation yet (after hearing from his manager).” I thought I wouldn’t be able to go if it was his face, so I checked with the manager and he said, “I think it’s better not to do it,” so Iguchi (Hiroyuki) was the only one who went. I went to the scene by myself, knowing only that someone had been injured, and returned home in the middle of the night. The next day, on the 22nd, when I finished my work alone, two managers, Westland, myself, and I had to work, but I talked to Hikaru Ota (who was at home that day).”
