[ワシントン 24日 ロイター] – The United States has provided Ukraine with ATACMS surface-to-surface missiles with a maximum range of 300 km in recent weeks, a US government official said on the 24th. Ukraine reportedly used this missile twice.

The long-range missile was included in a $300 million military aid package for Ukraine that President Biden approved on March 12, officials said. He did not say how many missiles were provided.See more

National Security Advisor Sullivan confirmed at a press conference that a “substantial amount” had been given to Ukraine. He said, “We’ll probably send more.”

Sullivan said Ukraine is committed to using the long-range missile only in Ukraine, not in Russia.

Last September, the United States delivered medium-range ATACMS to Ukraine, but the administration had been debating for months whether to provide long-range missiles. Initially, there was strong opposition, but in mid-February, President Biden gave the go-ahead for the provision of long-range missiles, taking into account Russia’s moves and other factors.
